Your Home Page Defines You

June 15th, 2007 by admin

What did your blog visitors see when they first arrived on your blog? Are they looking for the things you write? Or the photos you've taken? Or the music you have made?

If you are a photographer, it's best to show your visitors your photo gallery in your homepage; same goes to musicians; or for those that wish to make iloveblog their social networking profile portal.

With the iloveblog's Default Page settings, you can define your home page. Simply go to DashBoard, under Account Settings -> Change Default Page. You will have the options to choose any photo albums, music albums or even your personal profile to be appear in the home page when your visitors type in yourblog.iloveblog.com.

Isn't it cool? Remember, your homepage defines YOU.

How many people reads your blog?

May 29th, 2007 by admin

Another little known feature about iloveblog.com blogging service is the integrated blog statistic generated by Webalizer.

It can be found under Dashboard -> Site Statistics (Just under Usage section), or directly be accessed under http://yourblog.iloveblog.com/usage/ .

A few useful statistics are:

Visits per Day: How many people read your blog per day?

Referrers: Where do the people come from?

Search Strings:  What keywords people type to get to your blog via search engine?

Countries: Which part of the world are your visitors from?

Ok. So at least you know somebody else are reading your blog, even if they are not leaving any comment ;) Blog on!

We are pleased to announce that now all the iloveblog.com users are able to use Google Adsense to monetize their blog.

Google Adsense will be automatically installed at the sidebar in "SkyScrapper" format.

To start using Google Adsense, first you need to sign up an account at their website. The process is simple, and takes 3-5 days for approval.

Once approved, you may obtained your Google Adsense Publisher ID, which is required in the setting of the preinstalled ads of iloveblog.com. To get it, login to your account and select "My Account". The publisher ID is available under "Property Information" of the page. The format is: ca-pub-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (replace x with numbers).

With that publisher ID, select the "Dashboard" of your iloveblog.com control panel, and click on the "Ad Setting". There will be a textbox labelled "Google Adsense Client ID" which you can paste/input your publisher ID there.

Click Save, and you are on your way to make some bucks by blogging!

Side note: iloveblog.com implements a 40/60% revenue-sharing scheme when you place ads on a free blog. This means that roughly 40% of the time, your ads will be displayed on the blog. The other 60% of the ads displayed will be ours.

Yes, we just quietly added few more new templates to our templates lineup. You can find them under your Edit Panel ->Main Page -> Change Template.

Contaminated: A dark and clean theme

Pluto: Another dark theme, with colorful header.

Dipdolt: a greeny, nicely blended theme.

Candy: A bright colored, sweet looking theme.

Finally, my personal favourite: Minimalist!

Bloggers Highlight

March 29th, 2007 by admin

In this post, I would like to highlight few bloggers of iloveblog.com that I came across.

The first one is Neverending Journey. The blog covers lots of thing from Celebrity Buzz to All England Badminton Championship to personal stuff. The more you read, the more you get to know the blogger's hidden personalities, as it claimed in the blog:

"Those who do not know me will think that I'm quiet. But, that's not so true. :P You have to know me well then you will know my hidden personalities."

The next blog is from the P.Residen. So what is P.Residen? It has no direct meaning with the word 'President' but instead, it means 'Pulau Resident' (Pulau as Island in Malay Language). The blog is written in Tri-Language ( English + Malay + Mandarin ), which is a rarity in the blogsphere. He shares many personal stuff, especially on his going-to-born baby. Congratulation on that, President! Ops, I mean Pulau Residen. Anyway, here's a quote on what he's going to do with a Police Summon he recently received:

"..So i think i am not going to pay them right now, until i siok… "

The last blog I'm going to cover is G-Virus.  It is written by a guy named Gaveen (knew it from the URL of the blog: gaveen.iloveblog.com). He writes about his working life, occasion late night supper and a lot of entertainment stuff.  The blog is written in Mandarin. The only English sentence I found in his blog is this, although I'm not sure if it's English:

"Ehh, Ah Ne say No Pok!!!!"

So that sums up a highlight of some interesting bloggers of iloveblog.  Haven't start blogging yet? You know you should :)
